Journey towards self discovery Part 4 - Who am I?
By Lois Setoh | February 22, 2008
In Part 3, I was sharing :
How would you respond when what you planned turn out differently? Do you see it as a FAILURE or a FEEDBACK – You Decide!
Continuing my journey with you,
Due to the changes relating to my work and choosing to take what has happened as Feedback, I began to embark on a new journey about my work.
I started to observe myself in this new journey. It was interesting to see my response.
After choosing to look upon the unexpected change as feedback, I started to look at the situation.
My thoughts were jumbled up and Mr Fear starting knocking at the door of my heart. A companion of Mr Fear came together and we shall call him Mr What Ifs.
“What if I fail?”
“What if my finances are insufficient?”
“What if my loved ones do not agree?”
“What if….What if….What if….?”
Sounds familiar?
Embarking on this new journey, there was fear and uncertainty within me. Not knowing what lies ahead seemed imposing and left me shaky.
When we embarked on new pastures in life, what we do not see or know, it may appear daunting and frightening.
To unlock Mr Courage in your heart, here’s a bunch of keys called BHHHT.

“Let Go and Move Upwards” - Awareness
By Kiara Lay | February 20, 2008
A series of “Let Go and Move Upwards” articles:
Article One – Awareness of our attitude towards letting go
The story of the three rich brothers
“Once upon a time, there were three very wealthy brothers. They lived happy together in their very big mansion, sharing all money can buy – society parties, fast cars, jewels that museums and princesses would die for. Then one day, war came to their town. Troops are storming into their mansion, half of which has collapsed from multiple air-strikes.
The three brothers gathered as many of their processions as possible and made their escape through an underground cave path with soldiers hot on their heels. They got stuck at the escape opening as it is too narrow.”
Pause and think: What would you do if you are one of the brothers?

Success Road Block Alert! - Can Perfection prevent Success?
By Kiara Lay | February 18, 2008
Perfection is a trait that is highly priced in our society. God forbade if we are to say we are not striving for perception. Many of us are proud to put perfection down as a personal trait. Who would have thought that perfection could cost you success or happiness in life?
Perfectionism is a good thing, it is the driving force behind excellence. With too little demand of perfection we will not stretch to our full potential. It only becomes harmful psychologically and in consequences when the person is motivated by fear of failure rather than passion of what they’re doing. Perfectionism motivated by fear, creates a festering ground for deep seated dissatisfaction with life as the person keep thinking that things could be done better.
It is important to identify your motivation to be a perfectionist, as the wrong motivation towards perfection could be a major road block to your journey to success. In fact, it might even keep you rooted and stuck at the starting point! Shocking revelation isn’t it?
What are the two different motivations to be a perfectionist… Read the rest of this entry »

Success Road Block Alert! - Cynics
By Kiara Lay | February 18, 2008
I was watching a re-run of Oprah, and this segment caught my eye and I like to share with you:
“Cynicism is a belief in nothing. Cynics are those people who tell you they see things or other people actions, and that things are really bad or deceptive. They believe that no one is sincere, and that everyone has secret, selfish reasons for the things they do. They’ll tell you that it is nature or the world system/government policies/economy cycles/weather etc. are against you, and no one means what they say. The world, according to the cynic is a cold and cruel place… People, who are cynical, or jaded, make their own lives cold because they lack courage.”
I agree! Although it was fun and nice to be socially loved by being a cynically witty conversationist, but I was aware acutely now, how some people are so perpetually cynical towards everything that their conversations and advices to their friends and love ones became toxic.

By Mike Wang | February 5, 2008
We often wonder how is it possible for someone to achieve success within a very short span of time? In fact, many million dollar business are built within the span of a few years. So how is it possible to achieve that kind of success within such a short time?
Let me share an interesting analogy told to me by one of my friend to highlight this.
