Success Road Block Alert! - Cynics

I was watching a re-run of Oprah, and this segment caught my eye and I like to share with you:
“Cynicism is a belief in nothing. Cynics are those people who tell you they see things or other people actions, and that things are really bad or deceptive. They believe that no one is sincere, and that everyone has secret, selfish reasons for the things they do. They’ll tell you that it is nature or the world system/government policies/economy cycles/weather etc. are against you, and no one means what they say. The world, according to the cynic is a cold and cruel place… People, who are cynical, or jaded, make their own lives cold because they lack courage.”
I agree! Although it was fun and nice to be socially loved by being a cynically witty conversationist, but I was aware acutely now, how some people are so perpetually cynical towards everything that their conversations and advices to their friends and love ones became toxic.
They often gave advice of apathy to their friends, telling you it does not matter anyway, the new government plans to make the environment better or the new financial plans are just a re-election ploy, or there’s no use to pursue another higher degree as if that will do you any good, or that your efforts to plan nice party for your husband is just not going to be appreciated because all men are such unappreciative creatures…etc. These advices often come with satire aplomb coupled with either a worldly knowing intonation or a co-conspirer nudge.
It takes courage to believe in things; sometimes things will disappoint you, sometimes people will let you down. Cynicism if it becomes part of a person’s attitude towards life makes the person “radioactive”. Cynicism is another more socially acceptable form of negative apathy. Its “radioactive” nature spreads messages of disempowerment to all who comes into contact with these people.
Do not encourage these perpetually cynical people, create strong boundaries when you hang around these people or else run as fast as you can away from them if you are feeling less then chirpy. Recognise the truth that cynics are often people who have chosen to “give up” or chose not to build their courage to be empowered to change or move up towards their desires or better environment (be it a job, relationship, financial situation or something they care about).
Be Forewarned: Tread carefully if you are surrounded by cynics. They are prime examples of what John Di Lemme (a world renowned success coach, author of “Find your Why”) listed in his as “toxic people” who will keep you from success.
The road to success has its own mountains and valleys, why let these people who do not have the courage to move forward towards success in life, keep you from reaching out and upwards towards your own success?
