Too tired to have a life outside your job? The foundation to satisfying life is a healthy body. Like a car who need a good tune-up periodically and a full gas tank to function effectively in its purpose, we do need a healthy body and periodical tune-ups like resting and eating right to maintain at an optimal level of efficiency in our daily juggle act of work, family and recreational activities.
Detox your body is one effective method which is readily recommended by healthcare professionals and alternative medicinal practitioners. Detoxing your body is a way of removing the toxic accumulated in your body so you have more energy and your body can have more free up storage capacity to retain the nutrients in your daily diet.
In the last few centuries our lifestyles have changed very quickly. Our bodies are designed for an active outdoor life where we eat lots fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water. But we tend to spend a lot of time inside and sitting down, eat processed foods on the go, and drinking tea and coffee. Detox plans vary from expert to expert but these are the common basic steps:
Basic Steps to Detox Your Body:
-
Drinking at least 8 liters of water daily to help your liver and kidneys work well. This on its own will help your skin look better (great for ladies) and prevent dehydration and lessen the likelihood of headaches.
-
Stop drinking drinks which contain alcohol and caffeine. Caffeine is found in tea, coffee, and some soft drinks. If you drink a lot of caffeinated drinks, cut back slowly to avoid potential “withdrawal” headaches.
-
Eat plenty of raw fruit and vegetables to get your digestive system working. Try small sticks of carrot, cucumber, peppers, cauliflower and broccoli as a snack instead of potato chips. If this does not appeal to you, try added them to your fruit smoothies or juices. If raw vegetables is too out of the box for you, try steaming or stir-frying your vegetables. Aim to eat at least 2 servings of fruit and vegetables with each meal.
-
Exercise. Aim for at least 30 minutes exercise each day. Any amount of exercise is better than none. Exercise encourages blood circulation which helps your body to expel toxins.
You should start to feel more energetic within 2 weeks. If you enjoy the feeling that detoxing your body brings you, you may decide to stick this new eating plan. If not, you can do it twice a year for a period of 21 days each time as a detox programme.
Live free and healthy!
