Clarity of focus = first step to success
By Mike Wang | February 5, 2008
We often wonder how is it possible for someone to achieve success within a very short span of time? In fact, many million dollar business are built within the span of a few years. So how is it possible to achieve that kind of success within such a short time?
Let me share an interesting analogy told to me by one of my friend to highlight this.

Imagine you are going on a holiday. Upon reaching the counter, what do you tell the counter staff? Do you just tell the person, i like to go on a holiday, please give me a ticket? I’m sure that’s not going to work… First, you would need to know which country do you want to go to. Then, you would need to choose the city that you want to go to, the airline that you want to take, the class of seat that you want on the plane.
But why is it that when it comes to life goals, people are so uncertain about what they want. Many people have this idea that if they are rich, they will be happy. This is fair enough, but if you ask them how much money do they want to make before they will be happy? What will they be doing on a monday morning if they didn’t have to work?
Without this clarity of focus, it is impossible for you to achieve your goal, just like the counter staff can’t give you a ticket for you to go on a holiday if you don’t have a destination in mind. If you are stuck in a rut without achieving any success despite trying very hard, consider that you have been running around in circles just like a hamster on a exercise wheel.
So spend some quality time to think about what you will be doing, if you wake up on a Monday morning without having to go to work. It must be a vision that is vivid and clear enough so that so can envision it. Also imagine if you had the amount of money that you wanted to make, what kind of lifestyle would you be leading? Spending some time to plan for your future is never too late, so start now and build the future that you want.
Remember everything is first created twice, first in the mind and then translated into reality.
